Zone C · San Juan Water District
Irrigation repair
in Granite Bay.
Granite Bay properties are the largest on our map — more zones, more heads, more valve boxes, and longer runs between them. San Juan Water District bills a flat rate per unit, which means a leak here does not push you into a penalty tier. It just runs, quietly, on every bill, until someone finds it.
The rules that apply to your address
Granite Bay water rules.
San Juan Water District uses a uniform volumetric rate — $1.08 per unit, the same price no matter how much you use — plus a daily base charge that varies by meter size. There are no usage tiers. The district shifted deliberately toward a higher fixed charge to stabilise revenue during conservation.
Because the rate does not escalate, a leak produces a flat, continuous cost rather than a spike — which is exactly why it goes unnoticed for months. A head weeping through the night on a large lot is easy to miss on a bill that never jumps.
SJWD reports adequate supply and currently asks customers to limit watering to three days a week. This is a request; no shortage stage is in effect. If the district declares Stage 1, assigned odd/even days begin — odd addresses Tue/Thu/Sat, even Wed/Fri/Sun.
The district’s ordinance sets no time-of-day restriction. Year-round rules do prohibit free-flowing hoses and require automatic shut-off nozzles.
