Zone B · City of Davis
Irrigation repair
in Davis.
Davis runs its restrictions as permanent rules rather than a drought stage, and they are written around spray rather than water in general. Sprinklers are capped at three days a week and locked out of the middle of the day; drip and low-volume are exempt from that window entirely. The practical effect is that a Davis yard on spray has a much narrower legal watering window than the same yard converted to drip — which is the same argument as West Sacramento, for the same reason.
The rules that apply to your address
Davis water rules.
Sprinkler and spray irrigation is capped at three days a week. The City does not assign which three — there is no odd/even split published — so the choice is yours as long as you stay under the cap.
No landscape watering between 9:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m., except with a hand-held container or a hose with a shut-off nozzle.
Drip and low-volume systems are exempt from the 9-to-6 window. On a spray system the legal window is early morning and evening only; on drip it is not restricted by time of day.
Property owners must fix leaks, breaks or malfunctions when they find them, or within 72 hours of being notified.
Watering that causes more than incidental runoff is prohibited — minimal overspray is tolerated, water running off the area is not.
The City’s restrictions page does not publish a fine schedule. We do not quote one.
