Zone B · Elk Grove Water District and Sacramento County Water Agency
Irrigation repair
in Elk Grove.
Elk Grove is served by two separate water providers, and they do not publish the same rules. Which one bills you decides whether you have assigned watering days at all. Most people we talk to here have never checked, and are following a schedule that belongs to the other agency.
The rules that apply to your address
Elk Grove water rules.
Elk Grove is served by Elk Grove Water District (EGWD) and Sacramento County Water Agency (SCWA). The City of Elk Grove is not a water purveyor. Your bill tells you which one you are on.
Assigned days: odd addresses Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday; even addresses Wednesday, Friday, Sunday. Watering hours 8:00 p.m. to 8:00 a.m. Recycled-water users are exempt.
EGWD reports a normal water supply and publishes no mandatory assigned-day schedule. It encourages no more than three days a week, and discourages irrigation between 12:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. from May through October. Its enforceable rules are waste-based, not day-based.
No runoff. No irrigation within 48 hours of 0.10" or more of rain. Shut-off nozzles required. No hosing down hardscape. Non-functional turf ban under AB 1572. Leaking pipes, fixtures or sprinklers shall be repaired promptly. Enforcement escalates from notification to written warning.
